ZotDefend Security Package: Ready for Download

Apr 17, 2025 | Home Page News, News | 0 comments

As announced in March, all computing devices must have the ZotDefend Security Package installed on their computers by May 15, 2025 in order to access protected areas of our campus network such as KFS, Docusign, FacNet, and some department servers.

This initiative is part of a mandate for all UC campuses to protect the University’s sensitive information and mitigate potential risks such as ransomware.

To avoid any interruptions to your vital work for the university, you can now download the security package and self-enroll your computer. Instructions for installing the package can be found in our ZotDefend Security Package Service Page along with answers to Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Faculty and Staff working in a school: Your school IT directors will work with you directly to get your security updates installed. This option is for those who would like to download the package immediately.

Faculty and Staff working for an administrative unit: Your computer is managed by OIT and you will receive the update automatically. No action is needed.

For more information contact your IT Director or OIT Security at security@uci.edu

Thank you for your commitment to protecting UCI’s digital world.
