Employees: Complete Cybersecurity Training by February 10th to Prevent Interruptions

UC Irvine continues to update, strengthen and elevate it’s information security processes to achieve new standards that all UC’s have committed to upholding. As part of the ZotDefend initiative, we must reach 100% compliance for completion of yearly Cybersecurity Awareness Training for all employees. Due to recent efforts, we are pleased to share that we have increased compliance from 86% to 96%.

Beginning Monday, February 10, 2025 if you are overdue to complete Cybersecurity Awareness Training, you will be restricted from accessing UCI Single Sign-on applications until you have completed the training.

Shibboleth

The Shibboleth System is a standards-based, open-source software package for web single sign-on across or within organizational boundaries. It allows sites to make informed authorization decisions for individual access to protected online resources in a privacy-preserving manner. Shibboleth exists as a layer between an organization’s authentication service and another organization’s application service.

UCTrust

UCTrust is a unified identity and access management infrastructure for the University of California system. UCTrust enables authorized campus individuals to use their local campus electronic credentials to gain access, as appropriate, to participating services (Resource Providers) throughout the UC system. UCTrust is based on industry-standard technologies and a common set of identity attributes and identity management practices.
