IT Project Management Services

Quicklink(s)

The Project Management Office (PMO) leads and manages the portfolio of key IT projects that align with UCI’s strategic goals. PMO in collaboration with the Project Review Team (PRT) is responsible for offering decision support, guidance, prioritization, and management of projects utilizing sound project management practices.

The mission of the OIT Project Management Office (OIT PMO) is to establish and support a common project management framework for UCI’s Office of Information Technology (OIT) based on established project management concepts and techniques. This office serves to enhance OIT’s ability to consistently deliver successful, quality solutions and services to the UCI community.

Why is Project Management Important?

  • Improves project success rate by adherence to project constraints, and achieves project objectives.
  • Reduces project costs and minimizes duplication of effort. Projects are better planned and managed, leading to a greater probability of success.
  • Increases visibility, enhancing accountability and ownership. Clear and transparent project communication leads to awareness of risks and potential issues.

OIT-PMO will provide project management support for IT projects by:

  • Standardizing project management methods and tools.
  • Encouraging a culture focused on quality delivery and timely execution.
  • Creating repeatable project management processes from proposal to completion.
  • Guiding staff on project management best practices and techniques.
  • Promoting transparency and visibility of all completed, ongoing, and upcoming technology projects.

Getting Started

If you need help managing an IT project, contact OIT PMO. Someone from our team will contact you to see how we can help to manage your project.

OIT PMO provides project management support for a diverse range of technology projects that vary in size and complexity, both within and outside of OIT.

Typically projects that are candidates for the OIT PMO project management services include:
