UCInet, Telephone, and FacNet Service Outage for Urgent Network Fiber Repair

Scheduled for: Saturday, Sep 23, 2023 at 6:00 AM to Saturday, Sep 23, 2023 at 6:00 PM

Details:

OIT is tentatively scheduled to perform an urgent network fiber repair work that will result in a complete UCINET, Telephone, and FacNet service outage in the buildings listed below.

Reason

OIT will repair water-damaged fiber optic splice case(s) located in a maintenance hole near the Gavin Herbert Eye Institute. This work is required to prevent a future unplanned network outage. The maintenance of our network is essential to ensure the campus network infrastructure’s continued reliability and performance.

Please note that throughout this outage ALL UCINet services including wired, wireless, remote desktop, telephone, and FacNet connections in the following buildings will be affected:

Proposed Schedule:

• Saturday, 9/23 6 am – 6 pm (12-hour window, full network outage at all buildings listed above)

• Sunday, 9/24 6 am – 6 pm (12-hour window for testing, intermittent network outages)
