Guests visiting the UC Irvine campus will now have access to wireless internet via a new guest option. The option “UCI-Guest” will now appear in Wi-Fi settings, allowing for quick connection and access without the required steps and verification needed to set up Wi-Fi through UCInet Mobile Access.
Wireless guest access will only allow for basic internet browsing capabilities, and was not intended for regular use by students, faculty or staff.
Visit the OIT website for detailed instructions for joining UCI’s Wi-Fi network.

The Campus Internet Upgrade was completed successfully on July 9, 2022. The campus border to the internet was upgraded from a complex legacy architecture to a simplified, modern border that provides almost 3 times the bandwidth, and significantly improves network security and operational resilience.
The Office of Information Technology (OIT), in collaboration with UCI Health Information Services, is embarking on a multi-million dollar upgrade to improve the campus community’s access to the Internet.
The project will increase UCI’s connection to the Internet by a factor of 10, while simultaneously improving both the security and reliability of that connection. The scope and complexity of this upgrade require a complete interruption of campus and medical center internet services between 10 PM – 12 AM on Friday, July 8, 2022, followed by intermittent but brief outages over the following 10 hours.
