GitHub at UCI is a collaborative platform available to the entire academic community – students, faculty and staff. This service provides a web-based hosting service for software development and version control using Git. It fosters a uniquely inclusive approach to development, allowing multiple contributors to work together, review and make changes to the same project simultaneously. Whether you are working on a class assignment, research project, or software development, GitHub at UCI offers a highly interactive experience, enabling UCI’s commitment to innovation and excellence.
UCI GitHub is down for regular maintenance from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month.

Getting Access
UCI has two GitHub repositories: one for employees and one for academic use.
VPN is required if you access UCI GitHub from an off-campus IP address.
- Employee GitHub – For employees with an active UCInetID.
- Academic GitHub – For anyone with an active UCInetID
