OIT Transitioning Away from On-Premise Web Hosting
OIT is discontinuing its on-premise web hosting service for new clients. We are transitioning to cloud-based hosting solutions to enhance the security across the campus. Existing clients will be notified well in advance of a cutoff date, and we will assist them during this transition period to find alternative hosting solutions.
UNIX Web Hosting
Based on the LAMP stack, OIT UNIX web servers offer a combination of Linux, Apache, MySQL, Perl, PHP, and Python.
Subscribers are given 10 GB of storage space and shell access to the web server via SSH to publish content for their website.

- System administration
- Filesystem backups
- Webserver configuration
- Additional services will be offered either at a standard hourly rate or a flat monthly charge depending on the nature of the services being requested.
OIT does not manage the website content. All content, design, and website management are the responsibility of the client.
Support is managed by OIT’s Enterprise and Unix Services group.
